I've had the AW-10 since December and am very happy with it. Good picture, even with some light in the room.
1. The AW10 doesn't have a lens shift, you have to go up to the AW-15 for that. This isn't too big a deal as long as you plan installation.
2. I can't complain about the picture quality, true 720p, just make sure you have a decent screen. Images on a wall or cheaper screen can lose quality.
3. Haven't had any problems with widescreen at all. You can adjust zoom to fit your screen, so as you as you are within the specs Sony has in manual, you should be all set.
4. I've got mine moutned in an Omnimount, fits OK. Only complaint I have about it is that the bolts you mount to on the Sony are designed for a Sony mount so you have to play with the mounting arms a little on installation. Not a big problem though.
Only problem I have is that the lamp blew out on me yesterday! Only had about 250-500 hours on it. They are supposed to be rated at a half life of 2000 hours. Hopefully it will be covered by Sony. No to scare you away, I am sure that the problem is just a bad lamp, it happens now and again.
