Trying to build a home theater...please help?

I am a novice looking at this combination

Sony VPL-HS60 projector
SVS speakers with a Kenwood receiver VR-309 (not sure of the model #)

I was thinking of going with a painted screen, but thats why I am asking this question. Not sure which way too go.

The room is 23x15 feet (with no natural light)and I have a budget of $3000. So far the only thing payed for is the receiver.

Please suggest if this is a good combo and if not what you would reccomend. I understand that the receiver is not the greatest, but that can be changed in the future. (you are still welcome to suggest another)

If you have questions I will respond with updates...tried to give you all the info I could think of.

Thank you
I do plan on a sub...I think I will do the painted screen ...but what brand?
How long do the bulbs last on average?

Personally, I think you can do much better than that Sony PJ. I don't know what you're paying for it, but with your budget you can do better. First off I'd choose DLP over LCD due to the "screendoor" effect that the LCD can cause.

Also, the contrast ratings is pretty low which will effect the blacks and greys in your movies.. Take a look at these below. If you shop the net you find them for less than $1000 easy. I get some good deals at www.tigerdirect.com especially if you can wait a few weeks for a rebate.

To be honest there are so many pj's, manufacturers and opinions that if you look at them too hard it will make your head explode. As long as you get a pj with at least the following specs you should be good. I'd recommend an Epson, InFocus or Optoma myself.

1000 Lumens
2000:1 Contrast Ratio
Native 720p resolution
