Converting Hdmi to Vga and the Features of these Converters
It is possible to covert Hdmi to Vga through converters. When it comes to converting Hdmi to Vga, a key challenge is the maintenance of support for high bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP). Can my digital receiver not utilise component in to HDMI out?
I have a sony str dh800 and I am trying to connect my xbox through the component channel on the receiver and then through HDMI to my projector but there is no signal. I get the feeling that component IN will only utilise the component OUT on the receiver but there is no clear instruction in the manual to say so!
XBOX works fine direct to the projector through HDMI and through composite, it also works fine from HDMI thorough the reciever. I just want to use composite!
Ill make it more clear this is what I want to do but get no signal-
xbox--[composite]--receiver--[HDMI]--projector
This particular receiver will not upconvert component to hdmi. Unfortunately you need to connect component to component and hdmi to hdmi. Also, with HDMI, it will not process sound, it is just a pass through hdmi connection, which means you will need audio going into the receiver.
