difference between tv and projector?
hello.i just wanted to know what is the difference between a plasma tv and projector screen?the plasma tvs are way more expensive ,when i can just get a good projector and a good projector screen for more than half the price and get the biggest picture ever.whi si the plasma so much more expensive?is there a difference in quality?what are all the possible differences?thank you in advance.
Actually, no, a plasma TV is usually going to be cheaper than a projector, unless you're comparing a high-end plasma HDTV to a low-end data projector that is unsuitable for home theater use. Prices in plasma televisions have dropped greatly over the past couple years.
Projectors are best if you need a very large screen, but there are different types. The $400 ones are not very bright and have lower resolution and inferior contrast, and are made for connecting to computers, like in a classroom or business presentation. More expensive models have higher resolution (720p or 1080p capable) and much better contrast, and as such are more suitable for home theater use. If you want a screen size in the neighborhood of 40 to 65 inches, the plasma TV is the way to go. If you need a very large screen, get a projector, but keep in mind that projectors don't have TV tuners or speakers built in.
