SHARP PROJECTOR problem before?

I have an old Sharp XG-E850U LCD projector and a brand new laptop with Vista. Basically I can not projector to work with my laptop. This works well with video input I connected to my cable, but when I connect laptop via the VGA port, I have no recognition what so ever. I tried to create confusion with the screen resolution and everything and I get nothing. It is possible that the VGA port on the projector is broken? Any help would be awesome.

Perhaps, but another possibility comes to mind. That assumption, but the XG-E850U accepts a maximum resolution of 640×480 or entry …. If the video card the computer is set for more than that probably will not work. Try reducing the video resolution before connecting.
