Video Converter: Converts Video Signals to Various formats depending upon Nature of Display Device

A video converter is used to convert video signals which are in a format compatible with a specific type of display. Depending upon the type of display format needed, a particular converter is used. There are various formats such as S-Video, VGA, DVI-I and DVI-D etc. While a DVI-D to VGA converts computers digital visual interface signals to analog, the VGA to DVI-D does the opposite by converting a PCs VGA signal to digital. Having an in-built DVI-I digital single link connector on the source end and a standard HD15 connector on the display side, these converters make the connection between DVI-D input and the VGA output functional. Can I use an XGA or SVGA projector for home theotre?

I'm deciding on buying a projector. But there are so many different ones and I don't know which one is the best.
My budget is maximum $500-$600. I don't really care about HDTV, but I do want something high quality for moview viewing on my cable and computer.
What's the difference between these two, which one is better?

What you want is a better resolution so whether it's XGA or SVGA go for the one with better resolution.

In this case the XGA is 1024x768
and the SVGA is only a mere 800x600

Not to mention the Acer Projector supports alot more things in the way of data and video signals, you'd probably be alot happier with it.
