old projector?
will tv repair shops be able or want to line my Grid up correctly for me? its quite a bit out , its old it has 3 lights the green grids alright but the red and blue grid are not square or was it a waste of money
It would depend on the projector. What make and model is it? for the most part, converging should not be that hard. If you have a remote, there should be a menu for convergence. If there is no remote, then you might have to have someone do it for you...unless your the tinkering type.
Any good TV Repair place should be able to do it. Have them converge and tune the picture...the picture will look new again. Even if it's a little old, as long as the picture still looks good and there isn't significant burn-in, it might be worth doing. Now if we were talking about something really old,like a Kloss Novabeam (late 70's into the 80's), then it's not worth it. But something that's not beat up, in the 10 to 12 year old range and from a good company could be worth it. Remember that a good amount of the later CRT projectors can do HD. NEC, Sony, Runco, Barco, etc... have all had models in the past 15 years that can do at least 720p. A will set up CRT will always look better than a LCD or DLP projector.
