Since the day of coming projectors has become a major part of lot of important work, be it watching a movie, giving some educational notes or viewing certain images. There are two main types of projectors available the overhead projector and the video projector.

Even today lot of schools and colleges use the overhead projectors for giving some educational notes and even messages to the students. So what really are overhead projectors, basically many of us would have seen what overhead projector is, manufacturing wise speaking an overhead projector consist mainly of a bright shining lamp, the lamp is basically placed inside a box with a fan too attached to it in order to keep the lamp cool. RELATED TO LENSES.................?

A teacher uses an overhead projector for showing slides in a classroom, but students complained that the image is too small. The teacher then enlarged the image by moving the projector away from the screen, but the image becomes blurred. The image would get clear again by
A. moving the lens closer to the slide.
B. moving the lens farther from the slide.
C. decreasing the amount of light in the room.
D. increasing the power of the projector lamp.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN??

it is the properties of a convex lens

F = focal point of lens
Do = object (slide) distance from the lens

if Do < F
the image is virtual upright located on the object side as in magnifying glass ( cannot be projected on the screen)

if Do = F no image

if Do > F
the image is real inverted located on the other side of the lens (on the screen), the fun part is to investigate the properties further

lets say lens radius R, such that R = 2 * F
if Do > R the image is smaller but blurred as distance increases
if Do = R the image is same size as the object but sharp (focused)
if Do < R the image is bigger but blurred as distance decreases
God will not allowed you to have a sharp and bigger size image at the same time

after the teacher moves the projector away from the screen [Do < R] the image becomes larger but also becoming less sharp, so the slide has to be moved farther away from the lens
