creating a program to turn off sony projectors over a network?
We have a number of sony projector's that are networked across the network. To turn the projectors on we enter it's ip address and a javascript comes up in internet explorer and we can turn on/off the projector from there. the problem is that people leave the projectors on all weekend and I was wondering if I could create a program to turn all the projectors off from my office, would I have to learn java?? or could I do this in C?? or does anybody have any suggestions
The best way to do this is either duplicate how the remote javascript works and execute the code remotely.
OR
Maybe look at the manual. See if it has any other remote administration stuff. You could maybe write a script that telnetted to each device and then manually run the commands the webbrowser would of sent.
Maybe if the projectors have more advanced system, Maybe they have SNMP/ you could control using that or as i said, they may have a built in telnet control system.
You could write a simple script to do that in pretty much any language. php,C,VB etc.
