how low should i mount my front projector from ceiling?
I have a Mitsubishi HC5500. My ceiling is 10ft. I am using a 100 inch screen and the distance from projector to screen is 12 ft. How low can I mount my projector?
the question is how low should i mount the projector, not which kind of mount.
it will be mount inverted
It depends on whether you mount inverted or right way up. That model has vertical lens shift of 50% above or below straight ahead, so you could mount right way up as low as at the bottom height of the screen, and inverted as low as 50% below the top of the screen. Within this range you don't have to worry about trapazoidal images (and can therefore ignore keystone adjustment).
Since you can rear shelf mount it @12 ft and fill a 95"-115" screen you could mount the shelf anywhere between 50% of the screen height (25" on a 100" 16:9 screen) to as low as equal at the height of the bottom of the screen; however, this isn't wise since the projector would then be so low that anyone walking if front would block the light. It's actually better to mount as high as possible. You may want to invert it to get maximum clearance.
