Review: Eye-Clops Video Projector
Getting a projector? Top 5 tips
Choosing from any number of projectors can be somewhat daunting. Fortunately, there are a number of tips which will help you in choosing the HD projector which fits your needs most closely. The following are five such tips:
Tip #1 – Establish a Budget
Setting a budget is the first thing you want to do when you consider buying a new projector screen and system. They can be quite pricey and, if you are not careful, you could quite easily exceed your expected amount. Don't set the price too high. Remember, you can always upgrade later on. Setting a reasonable price limit for the projector will also help you to purchase great accessories for the system as well such as speakers.
Tip #2 – Make your Priority Clarity and Brightness
This is definitely the most important criteria to use when selecting a projector. The brightness of the projector is determined by ANSI lumens while the contrast provides you with black and white detail. This means that the higher the lumen, the better quality the image.
Tip #3 – Consider the Use
Those projectors which are chosen for businesses need to be quiet, simple to use, and sleek. The performance of the projector is also highly important. Because it is possible that there will be multiple presenters during a business presentation, the business projector should certainly have several PC inlets.
Tip #4 – Consider the Size of the Image
Different types of projectors will provide you with different sizes of image. Fortunately, the majority of projectors are highly adjustable so that they are able to give the user the specifications which are desired. A 1,920 pixels by 1,080 pixels screen will provide you with a HD image.
Tip #5 – Consider Buying A Blu-ray Player
There are several reasons to choose to purchase a Blu-ray player. It can provide you with a better image and can set your home or business projector screen set apart from ones that others possess.
Keep in mind that the lamps for projectors can be quite expensive. After about 2,000 to 4,000 use hours, you will need to purchase replacement lamps that can cost somewhere between $300 and $1000. Therefore, you should remember to turn off the projector when you are not using it so as to preserve both electricity and the bulbs so as to increase the lifespan of the lamp.
Ultimately, you should choose a projector that will fit your needs. The projector is the centerpiece of the home theater so you should make sure that it is of good quality. Before you choose to purchase a projector, you can rent one so that you can determine which projector you would prefer to use and buy.

Regarding projector bulbs, is it harmful to leave them on for extended lengths of time?
I realize they have a limited life - 2000 to 4000 hours depending what you get. However, in addition to the time you leave it on coming off the total lifespan, does having it on for say - 7 hours in a row cause a shortening of the lifespan of more than just 7 hours?
Thanks for any input.

Well... turning it on and off frequently without letting it cool down could have implications, but more to answer your question... no. The real effect is brightness and TV settings. If you have things set on "bright" or anything pertaining to high lamp output will shorten the life span. Look for "economy" modes and such. You will (or should) have a longer life span while using "economy" features on your TV settings.

Good luck and Happy T-day.
