Can I use an up-converting dvd using HDMI to M1 cable?

My Infocus X3 projector is supposed to be able to handle 720p, 1080i. The only HD input on it is M1. I am interested to buy an up-converting DVD player. Can these players up-convert to 1080i via M1 input on the projector? Maybe via HDMI to M1 adapter?

Your projector does not support a hdmi input so you would need to convert m1 to DVI then DVI to HDMI. Up convert players are out there that have DVI output. I say use one of these and get a M! to DVI cable. Why would you run sound to a projector anyway.
