On the home theater should be how to choose a family cable - China garage doors remote
HC intelligent home network The current number of home theater equipment, the total amount of wire is Tingzhi, but different devices with a different cable will have unintended effects, how to make their own audio-visual equipment to produce the best results? Then we have able to use the wire to all be a complete understanding.
Family film source which wire? By category if it can be divided into the video cable, audio cable and speaker wire.
Video cable: Name implies, means the video cable is used to transmit video signals, it is used to connect media player devices and display devices, media player device with DVD machine, HTPC, (VCD machines, video recorders do not mention it), video line with the following:
AV cable: This is the old analog video signal transmission of video cable, both ends of a lotus flower head (RCA head), the current DVD players and television sets will have this interface, decoration does not need such a line of cloth;
S terminal line: A few years ago the quality appears better than the AV cable video cable, the interface is circular, similar to the PS2 mouse head;
Three component cable: The cable line than the better quality S video cable, transmission analog signal, the current analog signal should be the best video cable, newly out of DVD, high-end TV, and home projectors will be with this interface.
VGA cable: is a kind of analog video cable, the most common in the computer, the signal compared with the component cable is different, but with the increasing amount of video data, such as the future to transfer 1920X1080P video signal, then the color poor line would be more redundant, after the resolution of more than 1600X1200, VGA cable quality and lesser, longer length will lead to snow. Why mention VGA Home Theater line on the road? It is because HTPC into the home theater, all the projector comes with VGA interfaces.
DVI line: full name DigitalVisualInterface, the latest digital video cable to transmit uncompressed all-digital signal technology, the maximum transmission speed is 8Gbps, most manufacturers have been supported by the current digital video signal, interface, transmission speeds of up to 8Gbps, its Interface with 24 +1 (DVI-D), 24 +5 (DVI-I) type, DVI-I supports simultaneous transmission of digital (DVI-D) and analog (VGA signals), in general HTPC DVI graphics cards are generally -I interface, and LCD monitors, projectors are DVI-D interfaces. DVI-I interface although compatible with DVI-D interface, but the DVI-I plug is inserted not DVI-D interface, and why? more than four needles. But we still have the means, using a DVI-I DVI-D switch converter.
HDMI cable: full name of the Hi-DefinitionMultimediaInterface, newer than the DVI digital video cable to transmit uncompressed all-digital signal technology, the highest transmission speed of 3.95Gbps, HDMI in addition to transmission of video, but also supports 8-channel 96kHz or mono Road, 192kHz digital audio transmission, but support is not too many HDMI devices. Its interface with the DVI interface converter (video part).
In summary, in order to support the formation stage all of the current display devices: general TV, Plasma, LCD TV, LCD cinema projectors, DLP Cinema projector, we should choose which line on the road?
If you want compatible with all the equipment, the best choice of three lines, the most common VGA cable (at least the support of all equipment), analog component cable, HDMI cable.

VGA or DVI? Is there that much of a difference at 1280x720?
I picked up a 16:9 720p/1080i front end home theater dlp projector. I am hooking it up to a nintendo Wii (RGB component 480p), an upscaling dvd player and a home theater PC.
The projector has a composite, s-video, RGB component video, vga and hdmi input. With only one input for hdmi I need to choose whether to use that for the dvd player or the home theater PC.
VGA allows twice the bandwidth of component but is still analog. If I hook up the dvd player to the hdmi and keet the htpc, will I see that much of loss on the PC? I need to pick a hdmi to dvi converter to hook up the PC. Hate to waste the money for one if I won't notice any real distance
Use the VGA for the PC. PC timing over DVI /Hdmi is still tricky and you may get overscan or underscan issues. VGA works like a charm!
Use the HDMI for your DVD player.
HDMI is convenient, but its quality over analog is overated.
