In years gone by the only place to go to watch a movie on the big screen was the cinema. This is still true should you need to see the latest blockbuster in 30ft x 20ft full on true cinema mode. However, good affordable and most importantly, quality, is now available to have at home.
No more expensive popcorn purchases, no more expeditions in the rain to hurry across the car park to get into the cinema. You can relax and enjoy a full home cinema experience without leaving the house.
Many options exist that match, room size, budget and the solution you require, making owning a home cinema much more realistic.
The term "home cinema" means different things to different people and again stems back to budget and room size. Our image of a true home cinema is that of a dedicated room of a decent size, with fitted cinema chairs, an automated screen of at least 10ft wide, top of the range source equipment and digital HD projector. Couple all this will a surround sound inbuilt system, fully automated blinds and lighting solution and there you have a real home cinema in its purest form.
The other end of the spectrum is the home cinema in your lounge. I have this set up by using a 50" HD plasma, a Linn Majik system, 5.1 surround amp and speakers, PS3 all topped off with a Harmony remote control and of course a fat leather comfortable chair to sit back, relax and enjoy the latest movies in.
So you can now see that home cinema can have the same pleasure giving effect regardless of budget. Rococo systems and design can offer both ends of this spectrum to its customers. Home cinema projector for films and PS3?
We're looking for a projector for a home cinema but we'll be using it for dvd films and gaming (PS3). We're a little confused about what we need to get such as HDMI etc. Can anyone tell us what projector we need to buy. We have a budget of up to £500 (not much I know!!). Any advice would be really appreciated. We've seen an Acer projector but it's not HDMI and doesn't have speakers. Do we need these things??
ok, if you're going to do ANY gaming at all, a projector is not an option. it is bad for both the ps3 and the projector to be running games through it and it will not look as good as a tv, especially if theres no HDMI.
I live in australia, so i'm not sure how this converts into pounds, but here you can get a full-hd tv for less than $900 these days, then all you'd need would be an hdmi cable. if you don't use a hdmi, the picture will look terrible.
