What would you choose?

hey everyone
im on a fairly tight budget, im lookin at getting around 2000 dollars from my tax return and im looking at buying a projector.. i can either get a benQ w500 for about 900 dollars or a panasonic ptax200u for about 1400-1500

im going to be running a playstation 3 through it with HDMI and the money i have left over will go towards a screen (most likely DIY) and a 5.1 surrond sound... i have read review

ive roughly calculated il be able to get the same image size from both projectors.. with it very slightly brighter with the panasonic,..

thanks for your help..

If your main concern is to project games via the Playstation 3 platform, why waste the money on HD1020. You would benefit sufficiently on a SD480 platform and have the advantage of a brighter lumen output and no iris manipulation to raise the native contrast levels. Such iris manipulations is a major distraction when there are many scene changes in a game. You don't want sudden brightness changes in the background. And especially in the Panasonic LCD projector, there's noticeable ghosting surrounding fast moving game images.

Go with a DLP front projector since it gives you the biggest picture measured diagonally. Check out a refurbished Infocus SP4805 4X projector at amazon.com which sells for around $600. Here's the URL:

It comes with a built-in speaker. Read the 15 Customer Reviews.

And here's an actual 96" diagonal movie image [A Good woman] from a distance of 13.5 feet.
