Optoma HD20 High Definition Home Theater Projector

home theater 3D with a p.c.?

If I used the Optoma HD20 1920 x 1080 DLP 1080P Home Theater Projector...and ran my movies and t.v. through a P.C. using a 3d ready graphics card will the optoma project my movies and games in 3d? if so can someone tell me a good ati card to use?

Well, I expected this to happen...and no, I'm not blaming you.

PC 3D is not the same as 3D TV.

On the PC, 3D graphics refers to rendering 3D objects but still displaying them in 2D. For instance, Toy Story 1 uses 3D graphics even though it's displayed in 2D. You can tell you're looking at a photograph of a 3D object.

3D TV (and movies) uses some trickery to use a 2D display to produce what looks like a 3D image.

Now here's the stupid part. A small number of PC 3D Graphics cards also support 3D displays. Again, these 2 "3D"s refer to different features.

To have a 3D display, your projector must explicitly support 3D - and it doesn't. Furthermore, even if you have a graphics card that supports 3D displays, only a very small number of games support this 3D feature at all. The graphics card cannot take just any game or movie and suddenly display 3D images.
