Epson 8350 - The Best Value Projector
I have just bought an Epson EMP-3300 Projector. Is it good enough to watch DVD's or play games?
Could you please tell me about youor experiences with this projector, thank you so much!
It will work OK as a first projector, but it's not a great choice.
The good news is that it's made by Epson ... so should be good quality. That said, it's large, heavy and with a 4:3 aspect ratio, 400 lumens brightness and 640x480 native resolution and unlisted (but likely low) contrast ratio it's (at best) an OK introductory projector. It's best used with a small screen (say <70") since a big picture will be look grainy. A light grey screen will help with contrast. It will also require a dark room. It is also reported (See link) to have short bulb life (and they are expensive to replace).
Unless you paid less than $300 for it, are OK with a mediocre performance (at best), and don't mind paying ~$400 for a new lamp every couple of years I'd try to return it. You can do much better than this old warhorse. (See elsewhere on the site at the first link).
