Is there anyway to improve an S-video output signal?

The best output on a satellite receiver is S-video and I want to connect it to an Epson Powerlite S6 projector with a native resolution of 800*600.Will a achieve a better image by purchasing this video converter here to get the full 800*600 resolution?:

The projector has VGA input.
If this won't improve image quality is there another way or is upgrading to a satellite receiver with higher quality video cable capability the only choice?
The projector also has S-video input but since I want to improve the quality I wanted to use the VGA connection by using the converter. Will the converter make a difference?

You can not 'add' resolution ... and every analog signal converter you go through will degrade the image somewhat. If I were you I'd just stick to the S-video.
