DVI Fiber Optic Extender: Enables Long Range Transmission of Digital DVI Display
Using fiber optic cables, a DVI Fiber Optic Extender transmits a digital DVI display signal up to 3,300 feet away from a computer. Each extender consists of a transmitter that connects to a computer and a receiver that connects to a monitor. The transmitter can be powered by the DVI port on the attached source device, eliminating the need for power supply installation. These transmitter and receiver units are housed in extremely compact DVI cable-type clamshell enclosures making them small form factor units allowing for easy connection and placement. These units eliminate the need for heavy gauge multiple-fiber cables and additional equipment to boost the video signal.
Installation and setup is easy requiring no additional software to operate. This DVI Fiber Extender is fully compliant with the DVI (digital visual interface) protocol which is the standard for video transmission to liquid-crystal displays as will as digital projectors. Computer resolutions from VGA (640 X 480) to WUXGA (1900 X 1200) are supported by these devices. Options for higher resolutions are also available. It works on the principle of digital, zero compression technology to deliver perfect pixel-for-pixel transmission of computer images. Since these extender units operate on single, detachable optical cable, it greatly simplifies installation and maintenance. This fiber optic extender is also available as an EMI shielded unit which corresponds to TDMS signal.
It also has a Pseudo-DDC detection function for EDID information and is equipped with Standard DVI 24 pin plug and SC fiber connector. These units are so designed that they are capable of auto-sensing resolution on each monitor. They also have the necessary regulatory approvals from CE, FCC and RoHS. Due to the fact that transmission of content over fiber optics is inherently secure and immune to outside interference, this DVI Extender is being used for Remote DVI display monitoring for medical, military, aerospace, industrial and traffic control applications. It is also used in color LED signboards, Digital Flat Panel Displays, Plasma Display Panels and projectors in conference rooms and auditoriums. Because of its advantages and features, this DVI Fiber Optic Extender is fast emerging as an effective an economical solution for extending single link DVI-D signals long distances over fiber optic cables.

How to connect my projector to a ps3?
Okay check this out. Ima buy a ps3 and ive already bought a 12.1 speaker set te' make it an awesome experience te' play but i wanna buy a projector so that the screen would be big. The question is... What TYPE of projector and what TYPE of wire should i get in order to be successful in connecting it. I'd be so grateful if ya all can help me in a newbie-friendly explanation since all i know about technical stuff is how to spell it haha. For example, i have no idea what HDMI or DVI something means so knowing it wont help me, what i wanna know is, when i go to a shop, what am i supposed to ask them? for example for the projector. Should i tell him that i need a projector which has a bla bla port? Hope ya got what i mean...thx in advance, appreciate ur helps peepz...
Okay, so what you need to ask for is 'a projector that is able to handle the PS3'.
Any projector will and should work and you will get the cables with it.
In the PS3 manual it tells you how to connect to a projector.
