Dell 1800MP VS Dell 2400MP projector?
i am planning to purchase a projector for home threatre purpose. i have filter to 2 Dell models. 1800MP and 2400MP.
i would like to know which one is a better one for home viewing. Can anyone help?
Both are business computers, both are 4:3 aspect ratio XGA resolution without digital inputs. See first 2 links for basic info.
Reviews of the two projectors (Links 3 and 4) suggest the 1800 is probably the preferred model for most people (lower price for the performance).
BUT ... Dell projectors are good value for portable, business use, but are not highly regarded for video / home theatre use. One of the weaknesses of most business class projectors is weak video processing.
I don't know what budget you are working with -- or how you filtered down to the Dell models, but I believe many other projectors in the same or slightly higher price range (e.g. the Optoma HD70 or BenQ W500) would be a better fit for home use. See the last link for a list of popular HT projectors organized by resolution (You should aim for 720p for HT use). Each model links to information and, in many cases, reviews.
