Optoma HD80 1080P HDTV Home Theater Projector - Visual Apex
AH!!! Why is my PS3 connected to a 1080 projector flickering when set on higher than 480p?
y ps3 is connected to an Optoma hd 1080p projector. When I set it to higher than 480p (720-1080p), it gets a static like flicker the whole time.

HOW DO I GET IT TO STOP?? I want to be able to play games in 1080!
Are you using an HDMI or a component video cable? You need to use one of those cables to get HD video.
What is the model number of the projector? I have an Optoma HD80, and I have connected both HDMI and component devices to it with no problem. Also, go into the projector menu to look up the firmware version number and then report it back here by editing your original question with the additional information.
