Fresnel lenses are generally used as a ray concentrators like conventional convex lenses, but it’s much thinner and lighter. For that reason, It has been universally used in taillights or OHP (overhead projector) to concentrate rays of light into focus.
As conventional lenses, most of fresnel lenses are also made of plastic.
