I've heard that the onkyo tx sr505 doesn't allow audio through hdmi what does that mean exactly.
I bought an optoma hd65 high definition projector and want an av receiver to use a full surround sound system with the projector.With this av receiver could I connect my satellite dish through normal yellow cable and my ps3 and dvd player through hdmi and get the sound from the surround sound speakers and the video on my projector?
It means you need an optical or coaxial cable from your PS3 and DVD to receiver to get 5.1 surround sound. It doesn't support also new HD sound formats such as DTS-HD MA and Dolby True HD from Blu-ray movies. Around $400 you can buy Onkyo 606 which supports new HD sounds and audio via HDMI.
