Does the age of the projector itself matter?

So what I am wondering is does the age of the actual projector itself matter, or is it the age of the lamp inside it? I just purchased a Hitachi CP-S225 Multimedia Projector from eBay. It comes with a brand new bulb. So will the fact that the projector itself is a few years old make a difference?

It should not, the light emitted by the bulb is what is important. Just make sure everything is clean that will help also
