How can I make a 6.2 volt mini torch bulb be stronger? Please read?

hey, I bought a star projector lamp off ebay and it requires a mini bulb with 2x AA batteries to make it work. It works but the light is very low It barely shows a light… the requirements of the batteries have to be 1.5 volts for the bulb to turn on.. Is there anything I can do to make it stronger? I have an adapter that fits into the projector but its to strong and the bulb burns out in less then a second after I plug it in

I know that I can buy a higher volt bulb but Im not able to get to the shops to get one.. Im bored so yeah I thought I could try and make it stronger

thanks in advance.. I don’t think I will get much answers but I’ll give it a shot

:)

I am not sure what you have. If it is a torch, it takes 4 x AA cells to make 6V as they are about 1.5V each, so you may need a 3V bulb to work with 2 cells.. If all is working properly and the bulb is the right voltage, you need more power (Watts) in the bulb. Of course the bulb must still be the same shape for the focusing to work properly. It may be that your battery is low, or that the connections like switches etc are “dirty”, meaning that a film of oxide on the metal where contact is made reduces the current through the bulb. The bulb should be a whitish colour raher than a yellowish or reddish colour when on. If the color is good the thing is working as intended, and that is just the way it is.

Concerning bad connections, these may sometimes be cleaned up by scraping etc, but if it is inside the switch not much you can do. You can probably test each connection and the switch by bypassing it with a piece of wire.

When I looked up star projector it seems to be a laser light show of some sort (see the link). This uses a laser and some internal electronics are required to operate it. It runs from a wall outlet. Of course the above comments don’t apply.
