Broken LCD or projector convert?
I have a 46" Sanyo LCD tv with a cracked screen. I can't seen to find a place online to get a repair quote. Also, if it is going to be really expensive to fix, is there any way to possibly convert it into a projector screen with 'minimal' effort?
Cracked screen means you will have to replace the entire LCD panel. This is the most expensive part of the LCD TV, probably will cost more than the value of your TV.
It is virtually impossible to make it into a projector screen. Such screens are of a low-glare material that can reflect light with accurate colors. If you mean make it into a projector, that would also be very difficult: LCD chips in projectors are very small and require a backlight, a working LCD panel, and lenses to focus the light onto a screen.
