mac mini paired with projector?
i am looking at buying a top-of-the line mac mini and pairing it with a projector, that i could also use as television and DVD player.
the cheapest display that apple sells is $699… could i get a good projector for that money? where do you find them for cheap? and what about LCD vs. DLP?
also, how do you go about connecting a projector to work as a television?
thanks in advance
Ok, here we go….
You can get a projector for about 500.00 but you may want to shop around and compare it’s input capabilities.

Some sell as much as 3000.00 to 5000.00. You need to ensure that the projector has VGA input as well as S-Video input or RCA video input, if you want to use it for watching TV.
This will help you decide what projector to buy:

There’s a link on the bottom of that site for LCD’s.
I don’t understand why a Mac-Mini (Maxed out at 1300.00) when you’re halfway to a MacPro. You can buy TV tuners for the MacPro and watch DVD’s off the computer. If you don’t buy a projector, you could use that money to buy a 23″ LCD Flat Panel Monitor for 400.00. Here:

Good hunting and good luck!
