I'm doing a comparison on total cost of ownership between DLP and LCD projectors. I have used DLP's TCO calculator, but one thing that it does not take into effect is what happens if the filter is never cleaned or replaced on an LCD projector? How does it affect bulb life? What would be the average life span of a bulb on an LCD projector that has never had the filter changed?
Projector bulbs only has a life span of 2,000 hours. Projectors should be only used for displaying home movies. They require a dark room and a video screen.
