Projector Lamps - An Inside View
Projector lamps are vital components of projectors, which ensure efficient performance. It is advisable not to move or drag the projector lamp as it is switched on or as it is initiating to start. This activity may shorten the life span of the lamps or it may make the bulb burst at times.
A number of projectors come with different lamp hour ratings. Projector lamps manufactured after the year 2000 have a life expectancy for 2000 hours or more. If you do not increase the brightness more than that is required, it will add many hours to your projector lamps. Every projector lamp has a built-in lamp hour that starts from zero when it is new. Check the menu system of your projector to find out the total lamp hours or go through your user's manual for instructions. Usually, projector lamps come with a warranty period of 60 days or 90 days. You could find the warranty on the projector bulb by referring to the user's manual or the manufacturer's warranty information column. How long would a new projector lamp for the TOSHIBA X2000 last (in hours)?
The lamp would be treated with care and turned off appropriately.
It should last up to 3,000 hours when the projector is set in the "econ" mode and the following shutdown procedure is adhered to:
1. Turn off the bulb while leaving on the main fan;
2. Leave the projector fan running for at least 20 minutes;
3. Then shut off the projector using the main power switch on the projector.
