BMW HID Bulbs

  1. BMW is German automobile, engine and motorcycle manufacturing company. BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke) was established in the year 1916   and is mainly known for its luxury and performance. It is known for its best quality production, performance and versatility which separate it from other automobile companies. It has an outstanding reputation because of its high class and standard production. It has the best engine and other accessories. BMW HID Bulbs are preferred most because of their best quality of light.

BMW HID Bulbs provide much better light as compared to other bulbs. HID stands for High Density Discharge. It refers to lighting technique that depends upon an electrical charge which helps to ignite Xenon gas present in the sealed bulb.

HID lighting system gives about three times more light output as compared to light given by standard halogen headlights though using less energy. It is the latest technique in the lighting of automobiles. In this xenon and other elements fill up the bulb instead of filament being used in other bulbs. The excited gas electro photo discharge is utilized for light emission by combination of spectral components after excitation of gas between two electrodes. This happens in a small capsule that is filled with xenon gases and halide salts. After application of high voltage ignition of gas occurs and the atoms cool down in energy and start radiating light according to their atomic properties. The amount of light emitted depends upon the amount of voltage and power applied. BMW Headlights in association with Xenon HID conversions give more improved visibility which is the first preference of every safety conscious person driving on roads. They are easy to install either in new ones or in case of replacements. In both the cases the Xenon Conversions kits are combined to the projector headlamps to make the visibility clear even during bad weathers and rainy nights. Thus they help in safe, smooth and peaceful ride.

BMW HID Bulbs are available in many colors to give the vehicles a glorious and shining exotic look. The different colors found are blue, white, yellow and purple. They have various sizes also. There are many types of BMW HID Bulbs available in the market. They should provide sufficient amount of light at all the times. They should provide proper visibility mainly during night times. The lighting system requires proper upgrading of the wire harness also which is a direct plug and play harness. The harnesses are designed in order to run the BMW HID set up smoothly.

BMW HID Bulbs are becoming a compulsory demand of specially the luxurious sports cars. The headlights of these cars are known as HID which serve as an alternative to halogen bulbs. The eye catching brightness, electrical consumption and other advantages are sufficient to attract the customers. There are few precautions which should be taken while using these bulbs such as: they should not be turned on or off before cooling of the car, approved ballasts should be used, the headlamps should have horizontal burn position to avoid overheating, the greasy or dirty hands should not be used while handling the bulbs and the bulbs should properly fit in the headlamps housing to avoid overheating and vibrations. Thus they provide a unique identity and attraction to the models of BMW cars for which they are exclusively known. They also help people to move safely on roads and avoid accidents to happen due to improper lights.

35W or 55W HID for a stock 3 series w/o projectors?

I got a E46 BMW and i want to upgrade my lights to DDM projectors and i can't decided on what type of HID's i want

Friend of mine told me to get 35W 6000K HIDs and to me; it looks more blue than white

and another said to get 55W 6000K HIDs and told me that 35W 5000K HID's look a little yellow....

I would like to have crystal white lights or a white with a small tint of blue in them... and isn't 55W too strong and can melt the housing or something? Can someone clear this up for me?

Color is determined by wavelength, such as 6000K is about a Bluish-White. 5000K is white-white. 5500K is about what you are looking for.

There are 35W & 55W version. I do not know why there is the 35w. All the ones I have seen are too weak. Go with 55W 5500K.. Expect to pay close to $200 for a good set.

Your regular lights are rated 55w low beam/65w high beam, so 55W should be safe to use.

Go on Ebay & type in "HID lights" in the search. Click on each different picture. There is a lot of info showing the different colors.
