Blank Check Web Design Job Offer?
A friend of mine just came into a large amount of money and is starting a web design firm for which he just offered me a "blank check" job offer. The client base is already in place, the salary is open and fair, but he needs me to come up with a list of what I will need in order to work for him. While I have a decade in "in house" design experience and a few years in marketing, the new position would have me as the regional rep for all of Northern California. As the job would have me not only doing design work, but sales presentations as well, I want to make sure I have everything I need up front
So far my list includes: a laptop with cordless mouse; a wireless presenter; a projector; and mileage allowance for all out of town travel.
So, the question is... What else should I ask for? (This is my first "blank check" job offer, and I want to make sure I have my bases covered for not only materials/tools, but compensation as well since the business in question is a startup.)

In addition, get a percentage in the company (private stock).
Even a small percent 1%-5% could mean big earnings for you over time.
Get incentive or bonus programs ... again, in the form of stocks.
Stocks are great for both of you. If this is an above board deal he will have to incorporate. Payments made to shareholders are not taxed the same way as to employees. It is a much more favorable arrangement for him.
Also, a percentage of the profits are also a percentage of the risk. A worker with stock in the company (you) has a stake in the success of the company. This can be sort of a self motivation scenario.
