PS3 big screen gaming: acer h5360 or Optoma DW318 or epson eh-tw450?
My son and I are turning our garage into a big screen gaming room. We have 3 beamers in our mind for this:
+ The Acer H5360 (3D)
+ The Optoma DW318 (3D)
+ The Epson EH-TW450
All are 720p beamers with a hdmi port; contrasts and brightnesses are comparable.
The optoma and Acer are very comparable: both are DLP projectors, 3D compatible and cost the same. The Epson is about 15% more expensive, does not support 3D and uses the 3LCD technique.
Now my questions:
1. Is this 3D compatibility also valid for the Playstation 3 which is announced for the next PS3 firmware upgrade?
2. Which of these 3 projectors will give the best ps3 big screen gaming experience?

I can give you some answers and advice. If it is a 3D projector, then it will be compatible with the 3D update that will be coming out. I currently have an epson home cinema 720 projector that I use with my ps3. It has around 1600 lumens, which is more than enough. I currently am using that on a Grandview 106" screen, and it looks amazing. One thing to look for with these projectors is that the 3lcd will generally have a better zoom and lens shift than the dlp, and that can be extremely important depending on where you are going to mount it. You will have alot more flexibility with the epson and mounting location than with the others.
