Document Cameras
Document cameras (also recognized as digital presenters and visualizes) are magnificent devices that permit you to display comprehensive drawings, 3-D renderings, photographs, and much more in numerous backgrounds, encompassing prescribed productions, teaching seminars, court hearings, and video conferences. Whether you're utilizing a document camera in a school room to illustrate an elaborate biological research task or in the boardroom to display new merchandise concepts, you have the power to aim the audience's vigilance on almost anything. No more transparencies, nothing less oversized sketches taped to a wall. A document camera permits you display all of those pieces that don't fit precisely into an electrical devices presentation.
What is a document camera? Think of a document camera as a 21st century overhead projector... sort of. It examines and actions rather like an overhead projector. However, different customary overhead projectors that use reflectors and lightweight benches, document cameras use a high-resolution video camera for display. In alignment to glimpse the likeness, you'll still require a multimedia projector, flat section show, or computer screen. So, start with a rudimentary "overhead projector," add in the capabilities of a scanner, microscope, interactive whiteboard, and computer, and you realize the power of a completely boasted document camera particularly Elmo document cameras.
ü The zoom characteristic on a document camera is really a large benefit. You can zoom on all kinds of text, graphics, and objects. As a direct, document cameras can effortlessly read little 8-point text, and they are perfect for showing 3-D objects.
ü You can literally take certain thing as little as a penny and enlarge it so the tiniest characteristics (nearly unseen to the nude eye) are projected and evident to an audience.
Of course, document cameras permit you to show documents in real-time. However, they furthermore permit you to arrest pictures just as you would with a scanner or digital camera. This entails you can arrest pictures, save them as JPEGs, and get them later. You can circulate apprehended pictures effortlessly or add them to electrical devices presentations.
Some document cameras furthermore arrive with sophisticated characteristics for example wireless isolated command, one-touch freeze function for seamless transitions between document alterations, onscreen show meal lists for so straightforward command of the unit, multiple inputs for seamless transitions between two submissions, and built-in USB and RS-232 interfaces.
If and when you conclude a document camera may make sense for you to buy, trial to address the next three items: likeness value, hue reproduction, and zoom capability. Image value is a function of CCD and resolution. CCD mentions to the show expertise of the document camera. Resolution, of course, mentions to the allowance of pixels displayed. As a general direct - the more costly the document camera, the better the likeness quality. Lower cost cameras generally supply 800x600 tenacity, and premium cameras can supply up to 1024x768 resolution. Before buying a document camera, it is shrewd to confer with every individual who will use it to work out his or her tenacity needs.
Many document cameras are equipped with lighting that permits you to brighten the subject and dispel shadows. The kind of lighting you require will count on the room in which you design on managing your presentation. In a brilliant, well-lit room, lighting may not be needed; although, in a dark room or room with uneven lighting sidelights can be used. An exceptional kind of lightweight is a backlight, which permits you to use transparencies, X-rays, or slides.

How do I get started using a Super 8 camera?
On a whim, I bought an Elmo 600S (sound) Super 8 camera from a second hand shop recently (I love the look of Super 8 film). Basically it's just the camera - supposedly in working order - but no battery or film cartridges.
It seems as though it's impossible to get sound-striped Super 8 film any more. Will normal film work in the camera? Also, what sort of projector will I need to play back the film? And how do I edit it?
As you can see I'm definiteyl a novice in this area, so any advice/information would be greatly appreciated! Cheers
@pinkpanthergirl: thanks, but that's not an option because the camera is 2nd hand. Looks like you can download old manuals from various sites online but it seems to cost a fair bit.
Although I haven't used a Super 8 cam since college in the late 80's, I do remember some stuff. You can use the film without sound as long as it is for Super 8. Also you should have no problem finding a projector at a thrift store, I see them all the time. Just make sure it is for Super 8 film and not 16mm. The best thing to do would be to write down the brand and model number then research it online. Also make sure the bulb is working or that one can be bought to replace one that doesn't work. Plug the projector in and make sure it is in working condition. The editing is a pretty simple process. You might find splicing equipment at a thrift store also, definitely online though. Basically all you do is cut the film and tape it back together. You wanna make sure the tape is new to avoid breakage during viewing. Talking to a parent or Grandparent who actually used this equipment is another great resource, in fact someone you know probly has the equipment you need in a closet somewhere. Back in the day everyone used Super 8 for family movies. I love the look of old film too. Have fun and if all else fails you can use some new software to make a digital video look old, lol.
