Best Hints in Purchasing a Video Projector

Video projector is one of some important supplies either for home or office. Therefore, nowadays a lot of manufacturers offer their best products in several different types with wide range of price. Unfortunately, various preferences available in the market often make people confused in determining the best device that suits them well. If you are one of those people, these following considerations might be useful for you.

First, you need to consider the manufacturer. You can find a lot of manufacturers that offers their best products to you. Before deciding on a certain product, it will be better for you to determine some choices first. You can decide on two or three brands that you preferred the most. Then, you can look for more information about them from any forums, sites, and magazines. Therefore, you can compare them to get a certain brand that you prefer the most in general. Some of the most popular brands that you can find in the market are Toshiba, Sony, Epson, and Sharp.

The second consideration will be the technology. Video projectors are available in a lot of different technology, but you will find products in LCD and DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology as the most popular ones. DLP projector uses small mirrors in order to reflect the light on to your screen. However, this product comes with more expensive price than LCD one. Therefore, it will be more suitable for corporate use. If you are looking for a device for home or personal needs, LCD is a perfect choice.

Third, you need to think about the resolution. This is an important factor to be thought when you are going to decide on a certain product. Usually, some older models are VGA and SVGA and they usually offer resolution of 640x480 and 800x600. Those are great options for projecting movie and images of low resolution. However, you should opt for XGA and SXGA if you need to project images in high resolution or to project 3D modeling, games, simulation as well as CAD. Choose a certain type that meets your requirements the most.

Those are one of some considerations that you have to think about before deciding on a certain product. Always make sure to check the specifications before, so you will not choose the wrong product.

what is anti-aliasing?

I have a DLP projector that run 1024 x 768 resolution.
It look great at 800x600 but the 1024 XGA res has the anti aliasing problem.
We are running a 100' 15Pin cable from laptop to projector.
I tried a VGADA, but that did not help much
Should I run a cat5 and use extenders?

I don't know what to tell you what to do but this is what Anti-Aliasing is:
Antialiasing is a software technique for diminishing jaggies - stairstep-like lines that should be smooth. Jaggies occur because the output device, the monitor or printer, doesn't have a high enough resolution to represent a smooth line. Antialiasing reduces the prominence of jaggies by surrounding the stairsteps with intermediate shades of gray (for gray-scaling devices) or color (for color devices). Giving the image a smoother look.
