component video to VGA input?
My XGA-resolution DLP projector has a VGA input and not component input, but the projector's manual says that it accepts "component video input: VGA DB-15 to HDTV/component cable".
In this case can I connect component video cables from a videogame console (eg Xbox 360) to the projector's VGA input using VGA-to-component cables, without using a transcoder?
if the projector is component input capable all you need is a component to VGA break-out cable. (Component to D-Sub 15 connector). similarily an adapter is available that accepts a standard set of component cables and adapts it to a VGA/D-sub 15 connector. The projector will then auto detect whether the VGA port is recieving an analog (VGA/SVGA/XGA) signal or a digital (component video) signal. It's as simple as that.
