my main concern is how long should I leave it on or leave it off in between periods? assuming its bad to turn it on and off in quick succession how long should I leave it on or off for?
ALSO one thing I would love to know....if I power it off and then wait for the fan to finish the cooling cycle ..is it then safe to unplug the unit or is there more cooling being done after the fan stops whizzing?
There's not much you need to do, maintenance-wise. Keep the lens clean with a lens blower or can of compressed air. Don't clean the unit when it's hot.
Don't turn the projector off unless you know you will leave it off for at least 30 minutes.
If you turned it on by mistake, there's no benefit in leaving it on for some period of time, just turn it off again.
Once the projector fan stops, it's safe to unplug it.
