I'm between the Acer-PH530 , and the Hitachi PJTX100 .
The Hitachi is about $100 cheaper , but its contrast ratio is 1200:1 , where the Acer has a 2500:1 contrast ratio.

The Hitachi is also a bit brighter the the Acer but that shouldn't matter too much.

Wow, tough choice! Both are very good projectors, but uses different technologies (DLP versus LCD). For me, the contrast ratio will matter, especially in a home theater environment. You want to see deep blacks and there is a significant difference between the Acer and Hitachi. The only downside is the DLP, some people are more sensitive to the rainbow affect than others. I know I am, that's why I have a LCD projector. But if you are not, go with the Acer.
