An Overview of 3D-Printing
3D-printing is an additive manufacturing technology which involves the creation of the three dimensional objects by use of multi layers of material. It has always been helpful in many fields of life such as designing and engineering. The major role is in biotechnology to create images of the different organs, tissues and arteries. Paleontologist and Archaeologists also make use of this technology to reconstruct the fossils and ancient work of art that has been partially destroyed.
3D-printing has so many uses and applications then of courses it would have many methods of doing it. With the increase in the number of applications the study on the method also increases because then people try to find the easy and cheap methods. There are many methods by which we can perform 3D-printing. Few methods are discussed as follow:
1. The easiest and considered to be the cheapest method of three dimensional printing is inkjet printing system. The process of inkjet printing involves the creation of the layers one by one by spreading the powdered layer and binder in cross sectional parts. It depends upon the company and model of the inkjet printer that the powder is whether plaster or resins. This process is repeated till full print is not completed. It is the fastest method and gives the full colors.
2. A method of 3D-printing in which fused polymer is deposited on the support structure same as the one need to be printed with the help of nozzles and the process is layer by layer. It is known as Fused depositing modeling and is used by rapid prototyping.
3. Stereolithogarphy is another technology or method used for 3D-printing. The process uses the liquid UV photopolymer and UV laser to construct the layers. The laser beam traces the cross sectional parts on the surface of the UV photopolymer and then the UV laser makes the layer solid over the layer below and the process is repeated till full object is not printed.
4. Digital light processing is the technique developed at Texas Instruments. It use vat liquid polymer and the DLP projector. In this process the liquid polymer is exposed to the light that is omitted by the special digital light processing projectors the polymer gets hard and then moves down and then again exposed to the projector light this process keeps on going until the 3D printing of the object isn't completed. When the printing is completed the liquid is drained out leaving behind the model.
5. 3D Microfabrication technique can creates the 3D model by the use of 2-photon polymerization method which is the type of 3D microfabrication. This technique is considered well for creating complex models. The model or printing can be done by creating the desired 3D object on the block of gel by the help of focused laser.
All these methods have their own importance depending upon the requirement of those who want 3D-printing. Most widely used method is inkjet printing because it is fast and cheaper than other method and also easy in use. It also avoids the use of toxic chemicals and lasers like those which are used by several of other methods such as 3D-microfabrication and Stereolithography.

what's the cheapest projector to play dvd's with good image, sound etc in a small lounge?
do you need a projector specially made for dvd players rather than computers. we have seen a cheap Dell one which is mainly for meetings/powerpoint presentations but it says is ok for a small lounge. Would it be ok or would it compromise picture quality? It has 2000 ANSI lumens, contrast ratio 2100:1 and is DLP.
On the surface it looks like it should be fine. The lumens and contrast are good, and I prefer DLP to LCD myself.
The only thing you might want to check is it's native resolution to determine just how good a picture you can get. A pj with 800 X 600 won't look as good as 1024 X 780 for instance.
Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the lumens. In a small to Med room anything above 1000 or so should be fine even with enough ambient light to read by.
