How to Buy Projectors Cheap
Projectors are very useful for a wide variety of occasions. As long as there is a huge audience, a projector will come in very useful. You can use a projector to make a presentation in a small conference room, playback a video during a wedding function, or connect it with a home theater system for entertainment purposes.
There are many different brands to choose from. There is Dell, Sharp, Cannon, BenQ, Sony, Panasonic, and more. Each brand will have its own unique characteristics. You will have to examine different models to determine if the specs suit your own needs. Be prepared to pay a little bit more for more established brands. Prices for projectors can range from $600 to thousands of dollars.
The prices differ because there is a wide range of projectors to choose from. Each brand and model will have its own specifications. The key difference lies in how powerful the projector is. This is measured in terms of lumens. In lay man terms, lumens represent brightness. You will see projectors being advertised as 1500 lumens, 2000 lumens, and so on. The higher the value, the more powerful the projector. The problem is, for high-end projectors, the price tag is rather hefty.
Fortunately, there is a way to buy projectors at cheaper prices. There are two ways to do this. You can either check out a traditional price comparison website, or check out an auction comparison website.
The difference between the two is that for a traditional price comparison website, you are comparing prices between different vendors for new projectors. You may then choose to buy from the vendor with the cheapest price and offers the best services. Any additional bonuses like free shipping will help keep the cost down.
For auction comparison, you get the latest information from major auction sites. You will be able to buy new or used projectors. Some second hand projectors are still under warranty. Perhaps a company used it for a year and decide to upgrade to a bigger set. Hence they are selling away the old set at a greatly reduced price. Look out for deals like that. Those are the best deals. Otherwise, you may have to settle for a brand new projector.
When buying projectors, bear in mind that it's not necessary to buy the most powerful projector. By buying what you need, you save on the additional premium that is usually loaded on higher end models.
In addition, note that models that are heavily advertised may cost more. After all, the manufacturers need to recoup the advertising costs. So such costs are often passed on to the consumers. In order to save on price, try avoiding heavily advertised models. Spend some time reading reviews from other users and make a wise buying decision.

Why wont my pc switch on with a projector plugged in?
I have a Dell PC running Windows 7, it will boot up fine with a monitor or nothing plugged in, but if i try to switch it on with my Optoma Projector connected (either by HDMI or VGA) it will not even beep at the beginning to boot up. Please Help!
Typically, PC's have problems when trying to boot while connected to an external projector. I would recommend booting up your computer, then plugging in your projector. I think this has to do with the fact that there are multiple projector options, especially in Windows 7.
