The History of Dell
Michael Dell founded his company 1984 in a student room in Austin, with a startup capital of a mere 00. The concept was to eliminate the middle man and sell computers directly to customers. That way they could sell at lower prices, and by offering complete systems, the customer would not have to assemble the computer themselves. While Dell wasn't first with this idea, they were one of the first to succeed with it financially. By the 1990s, Dell had become one of the largest computer companies, and had expanded overseas.
After the year 2000, the company expanded into other markets, such as television, projectors, digital audio players and printers. In recognition of this, the company changed its name from "Dell Computer Corporation" to just "Dell Inc." in 2003. That same year, the company entered the printer market, after a deal with Lexmark. Lexmark would then manufacture the printers to be sold under the Dell brand name.
The printers sold by Dell include laser printers and all-in-one inkjet printers that combine printing, scanning and faxing.

Want to buy a notebook computer. Suggestions?
I have been looking around, and have found an Acer Aspire 4736-652g32 which is tempting. Is it any good? I want it to show spreadsheet and demos to customers, and for relaying vids through a projector to a screen.
I have good experience with Dell notebooks. Which are the good ones around at the moment? I don't want to spend a great deal of money.
Any other brands/models you can suggest will be appreciated. Thank you.

If you already have another computer at home and you just need this computer strictly for business. It seems like you can get a netbook.
A netbook is a very compact notebook that functions like a full laptop. Since you use a projector, showing your spreadsheets and videos shouldnt be a problem!
They are really cheap and are very popular.
You can check out ones from Toshiba, Dell, Acer, and Asus EEE PC.
Since most are the same, you should probably look for ones that have a long battery life. The specs could come later. I think the amount of RAM the computer would have would be the next priority on my list.
If you are still set on wanting to have a laptop, Toshiba, Dell, and HP make pretty good laptops. You don't necessarily need a top of the line laptop, a basic one should be just fine. I just chose those companies because I know they last quite long. I am not so sure about an Acer.
