Tracking Chips and Law Enforcement Question: If a $500 product is stolen, Will the police track it down?
Will law enforcement track down stolen property like a $800 projector and Computer that have a micro tracking chip inside or are there laws that prohibits the police from tracking down stolen items with tracking chips inside them.
Would I need more evidence for the police to help track down stolen property like a video of the rubbery in progress from a hidden camera inside my place or a alarm going off inside a apartment of neighbors witnessing the alarm going off?
NOTE: I live in a apartment alone,on the first floor and the apartment-building is pretty small which has only 8 apartments inside. My apartment is rite near the front entrance and not that far from the back/exit also. Even though the place I live is a nice and quite neighborhood, I'm still worried about my apartment being burglarized because I work 3rd shift and I feel that it's very easy for someone to teal anything out of my apartment.
Tracking chips are VERY expensive. Paying a monthly fee to track a $800projector is not really worth it. I suggest you install a simple alarm or get render's insurance against thief.
