my 1080p Epson 8500ub Projector
will a imported projector from usa work in the uk? the USA prices are much cheaper?
I was amazed when I compared the price differences between countries. The projectors I was looking at are:
Panasonic PT-AE4000 - $1,999(£1227.74) USA / £1999 + Vat UK
Epson PL Home Cinema 8500UB - $2499(£1534.82) USA
Epson EH-TW4400 (the europe version of 8500UB) £2609 + VAT
With Vat the prices go up a couple of 200-300 hundred pounds more. I don't understand why it cost around £1000 more for the same equipment. Will importing work and be a better idea?
Be VERY Careful
USA projectors are usually NTSC only, so they will not work with PAL sources (But they will work with PCs). Power supplies are also different.
