Picture Flashes grey and has lines across it on HDMI!?
I have recently connected my V+ HD box to my brand new Optoma HD20 projector through a HDMI lead. Ever since the first second it is switched on the picture will flash grey, very similar to an out of tune analog TV and also have multicoloured lines flash across the screen too. However if I change the settings from "High Definition HDMI" 720p OR 1080p (Tried both) to "Widescreen Composite" the picture returns to normal, all be it looking very crappy on the 92" screen. I have tried changing HDMI cables using different HDMI slot on projector turning up Noise reduction and turning on and off ( Both HD20 and V+ Box) however the problem still persists. Also when I plug in my Mac Mini through the HDMI the picture is perfect on full HD, so I don't believe it to be the projector's problem, but I am pretty much clueless as to why this is happening and what is causing it. Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated. Thanks.
Really simple solution.
Take it from a laptop PRO, Grey flashing screen, sometimes it flickers right?
The HDMI cable is defective, its basically the same exact thing when the laptop screen connection between the screen and motherboard becomes loose (open and close many times makes it loose) and the same exact thing haptens, grey screen with wierd lines, sometimes screen flashes and sometimes it becomes really dark but you can still see the picture (in laptops)
so try a different HDMI cable, something in the 20-30$ range.
I advise ROCKETFISH, you know, even thought they arent well known, I have never found a problem with thier stuff and really I think its the stock to look into, its only gonna go up.
